Hymns: A Modern Translation – Sean and Aimee Dayton

Sean and Aimee Dayton have produced an album titled Hymns: A Modern Translation. It is an enjoyable, edifying CD. Most of the tracks will be familiar to many listeners, though not all.

The track list:

1. Nothing But The Blood
2. O Worship The King
3. My Jesus I Love Thee
4. The Wonderful Cross
5. All Hail The Power Of Jesus’ Name
6. Fairest Lord Jesus
7. In Christ Alone
8. Crown Him With Many Crowns
9. What A Friend We Have In Jesus
10. Holy, Holy, Holy

Sean and Amy do a great job of presenting these hymns in a modern style. While it won’t produce many new songs for congregational worship leaders, it is a good listen. The CD won the 2006 Inspirational Album of the Year by the Canadian Gospel Music Association. You can listen to clips of the tracks, or download the album for $9.99 at www.ionworship.org.

Where you lead me – Monique Tute

The folks at www.ionworship.org are making albums of songs available for free in an effort to get songs out and serve churches. They are all fairly basic demo-like MP3s. Great for worship leaders, but not intended as performance pieces. The site also includes songs by Brian Doerksen and Andy Park.

Monique Tute’s “Where you lead me” is included on the First Album. It is a simple song, based on Psalm 23.

Here is the first verse and chorus:

Lord You are my shepherd, I have all I need
Resting in Your meadows, walking by Your streams
Strength I find returning, and I rise again to say

Where You lead me I will follow, I will follow You
Where You lead me I will follow, I will follow You

MP3s and Chord charts are all available for free.
